Tyler is dedicated to educating his patients and facilitating the healing experience needed for you to be present, inspired, and engaged in the world.

Tyler Lapkin is a California Board licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. He is a graduate of Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA where he earned a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM) in 2009. He is also a graduate of the University of California- Santa Barbara where he studied History and Environmental Science.

Tyler is trained in both Eastern and Western diagnostics and methodology for understanding and treating disease and has a key interest in the new field of Integral Medicine.

In addition to his private practice, which he opened in 2010, he started the acupuncture program at the Tahoe Forest Hospital Cancer Center in 2012 to help patients going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

After 4 years of TCM education in Santa Cruz, California, Tyler trained in Hangzhou, China at Zhejiang Medical University and traveled to Bali, Indonesia volunteering as an acupuncturist at a birthing/women's center. Tyler has studied in-depth with master teacher/ practitioner Lonny Jarrett,  and is grateful to call longtime Tahoe area acupuncturist, Stephen Barr, a mentor and friend. He is a graduate of a two- year meditation teacher training program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

Tyler also works for the Joseph Campbell Foundation, where he aims to teach about the power of mythology. He spends his time enjoying the outdoors. He is an avid surfer, hiker, skier, and photographer.
